Currently, going electric does make the most sense when you use that government incentive to install Level 2 (240 V) charging at home. You cannot plug an EV into a Level 1 (110V) socket and expect to only charge at home. If you want the job done right, and done once, Trust Adrian and Urbanite Electrical Services. I can vouch for his integrity and knowledge to provide a system that will be safe, and reliable.Urbanite installed my charger in Charlottetown 4 months ago. I can plug in every 7-10 days if I wanted to drive between 10%-80%. Given I could charge at home for 17c/ kWh, I plug in every day and set my battery max charge to 50% during the week. When the car is plugged into the house, a schedule automatically preconditions the cabin and battery to be nice and toasty for the kids on chilly mornings. My car will do about 300km round trip in the winters, and over 400km around town in the summer. Most of my daily trips are less than 50km. The small bump on the power bill to completely erase my gas bill has been working out fabulously. Some people will need more range than I do, or road trip more frequently than I do. A regular gas hybrid is the solution for anyone not ready to make the switch. Some people may consider spending some of the incentive on buying an EV with a bigger battery.

Rewiring: This involves replacing old, outdated, or faulty electrical wiring with new wiring to ensure safety and compliance with current building codes.

Panel Upgrades: Upgrading the electrical panel or main service panel to increase the capacity and accommodate additional circuits or appliances. This is often necessary when a home is modernized and requires more power due to increased electrical demands.

Lighting Upgrades: Installing new light fixtures, switches, or dimmers to improve the functionality, aesthetics, and energy efficiency of the lighting system in a home.

Outlet and Switch Installation: Adding or relocating electrical outlets and switches to meet the specific needs and preferences of homeowners. This may include installing additional outlets for convenience, USB ports, or smart home capabilities.

GFCI Upgrades: Installing Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) in areas where water is present, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor outlets. GFCIs are designed to detect ground faults and quickly shut off power to prevent electrical shocks.

Electrical Safety Inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of the electrical system to identify any potential hazards, code violations, or outdated equipment that may need to be upgraded or replaced.

Smart Home Integration: Incorporating smart home technology into the electrical system, such as installing smart thermostats, security systems, lighting controls, or voice-activated assistants.

Increased capacity: If you find that your current electrical system is unable to meet the demands of modern appliances, electronics, and other electrical devices, renovating it can provide increased capacity. This allows you to power more devices simultaneously without overloading the system.

Home value: Upgrading your electrical system can enhance the value of your home. Potential buyers often look for properties with updated and reliable electrical systems, as it gives them peace of mind and reduces the need for immediate renovations.

Adaptability: Electrical renovations can also make your home more adaptable to future technological advancements. With the increasing popularity of smart homes and home automation systems, upgrading your electrical system can ensure compatibility with these technologies.
